The overpacked schedule. The shopping. The travel. Although it’s a magical time of year, it can be quite stressful with all of the expectations we put on ourselves. Here’s how to set yourself up to truly enjoy the season.

  1. Say “no” when you need to, to save your sanity. You can’t make every event and that’s ok. 
  2. Give your time, money, clothing or food to a local shelter. Even a little goes a long way and will make you feel great.

  3. Really connect with those you love: have a phone-free lunch or dinner date to catch up without distraction.
  4. Spread a little joy and bring a holiday treat to an older neighbor who lives alone.
  5. When you feel overwhelmed, slow your breathing. Take slow, deep breaths. Focus on the exhale and you’ll be surprised how quickly you can calm down.
